What is Luxury Vinyl Tile (or LVT)?
Luxury Vinyl Tile, also known as LVT, is a product that looks like real wood or stone flooring with many practical benefits.
We have a range of styles, colours and formats available for you to create an authentic looking floor in your home, without the drawbacks of natural materials.
Choose from any flooring design pattern such as herringbone, diagonal lay, brickbond and staggered or stack bond.* Our products are pre-cut in planks or tiles, so you aren’t restricted which can occur with sheet vinyl. You can even choose multiple colours of planks or tiles to mix together and create a completely unique floor.
*Laying pattern will depend on product type.
LVT is made with a series of layers; the stability layer helps the product to lay flat and level, whilst still being flexible enough to cut through with a knife. The HD photographic layer gives every Palio Express by Karndean product its highly realistic design whilst the PVC wear layer protects the floor’s design from everyday wear and tear. Our enhanced K-Guard+ surface protection provides added protection and reduced maintenance.
Rigid core is 30% quicker to install than other click-locking floors. The ability to fit over most existing hard floors, or uneven subfloors means there is minimal subfloorpreparation. See our Korlok range here.
Loose lay is fitted by placing planks or tiles tight to each other and to the perimeter of the room, often without the need for any adhesive*. *For rooms larger than 16m2, tackifier is required when fitting Palio LooseLay. See installation guidelines. See our Palio LooseLay range here
Luxury vinyl tile is far more durable than real wood, stone or ceramic tile, withstanding the general wear and tear of daily life. Palio Express is waterproof too – unaffected by leaking appliances, spilt drinks or messy bath times, making it even more resilient to busy family life. Better still, it’s easy to maintain – simply give it a quick sweep and mop using Karndean Clean solution and you’re good to go!
LVT is warmer underfoot than real wood or stone, but if you’re looking for extra warmth, LVT is suitable for use with underfloor heating systems. By teaming its practical benefits with the realistic effects and endless design capabilities and it is easy to see why LVT is so popular in today’s flooring market.
